Ford Territory - AUS seatbelts won't lock help!

Hi,

I am visiting family in Australia and am unable to get the carseats installed properly. I am trying to install two basic seats in a 2012 Ford Territory. The problem I am finding is that the car seams to only have emergency lock seat belts. I was under the impression that the vehicle was required to have some way to switch to an automatic locking belt, but I cannot find how to do it. I do not have locking clips and they did not come with the seats.

I tried pulling the seat belt all of the way out to engage it, but that didn't work.

Please help.

I think some more information could be helpful. What model year is the vehicle? Are you installing Australian seats? If so, what make/model of seat? If not Australian, what country are the seats from and what make/model?

Is the manual for the vehicle inside the glove box? Or in a seat back pocket?

Not all seat belts lock, I'm pretty sure there is no law in Australia that says they have to. Y

ou'll need to use a locking clip, either a metal one or an exactus plastic one (these are the ones I use as they're so much easier). Most of the baby shops will sell them.
