Moving to Europe - do I need new car seat

    Hi there
We live in the US right now. My daughter is 18 months, rear-facing in a Clek Foonf which we've been happy with. It looks like we'll be moving to Denmark in a few months and I was wondering if it's illegal to keep her in the US seat? It wasn't a cheap seat and we only got it about 6 months ago when she outgrew her infant seat so I'm loathe to spend on another one (but it's such a humungous heavy seat, I don't want to shlep it to Denmark only to find I need to buy another one)
    Thanks!

Moving to Europe - do I need new car seat

    Welcome to car-seat.org!

If the move is permanent or semi-permanent (longer than a few months), you will need to buy a European seat. Unless you will be moving back soon (in which case it might be worth it to leave the Foonf with relatives), I would sell the Foonf as soon as possible (list it now so you can get as much of your money back as possible) and pick up a Scenera NEXT for your daughter to use once it is sold and for the flight over to Denmark. Once you are there, I believe she can continue to use the NEXT for a short period of time while you are settling in and purchasing a European seat for her.

    Best of luck!
