Hello,

I am sorry to hear about your son and the difficulties you are having.

This issue really needs personal attention of a local technician with special needs training to evaluate the situation. You may be able to get a referral from a case worker that you currently have, or you can consult these resources to find a technician or instructor with special needs expertise:

http://www.preventinjury.org/Special-Needs-Transportation/Special-Needs-Technician-Database

OR:
https://ssl06.cyzap.net/dzapps/dbza...tegory1=TAB9_CERTSEARCH&Webid=SAFEKIDSCERTSQL
  • Click on “Find a Technician/Instructor.”
  • In the CPS Technician Search: FIND A TECH box, scroll down to the Extra Training field.
  • Click on “Special Needs” in the Extra Training field.
  • You can limit your search to a specific state or postal code by first completing those fields in the FIND A TECH box.

How much does he weigh?

Ez-on makes a vest that allows a person to lay on the vehicle seat and still be protected. But at 36inches, he may be too small.

Depending on the weight, the MyRide 65 may be worth looking into. It has a pretty straight back and reclines a bit installed Forward Facing so it may fit your needs.
