Anyone own an APT 50?

Can anyone tell me their thoughts on the APT 50? Is it as easy to install as the NEXT? Is it as compact for babies/kids over 22 lbs? Is the harness strap tightener easy to use?

I am considering an APT over the NEXT because it seems like it has a slightly taller shell, more room in the crotch area, and my toddler is currently obsessed with dual cupholders. Also, with the trade-in at BRU, i can get it cheaper than the NEXT. I have read that the install is easy and does not require pool noodles, but I am curious as to whether it is as easy as the NEXT.

If you google, there is an article comparing the NEXT and the Apt 50. ;-)

Are you thinking of this one? http://csftl.org/cosco-scenera-next-vs-cosco-apt50/

I saw it, but I still can't figure out why everyone loves the NEXT and not the APT. Is it most about the price difference? The main differences that I can see are:

APT: wider, more space in the crotch and harness height, maybe slightly taller shell? (The carseatblog specs say the opposite, though, so I am not sure which to believe...), two recline lines

NEXT: narrower, maybe a little less roomy, no required weight for a more upright install and more flexibility in recline in general

Considering how similar they are, I am surprised that I don't see the APT recommended as often -- is it just because of the higher cost? Or the width? Or is it that the install is harder with the APT?

I purchased them both and tried them in my Oddy. I went with the NEXT for a couple reasons. The APT with those cup holders was so wide, like weirdly wide. It was more $$ than the NEXT. I didn't like the two recline lines and it didn't offer any more rear facing time and that's what I'd be using it for. Maybe slightly more FF time .
Also you can't get a longer crotch strap for the APT which I was able to get with the NEXT.

That's all I remember for right now :)

I "inherited" a storeroom full of Nexts, Apts and Tributes. I find the Apt hard to install and like the fact that you can't really mess up the recline on the Next, plus it's light and small where the Apt is bulky. That said, the Apt 50 has higher slots, so I think I'd pick it over the Next (So Apt 50 > Next > Apt) for personal use. I did phase down to just Nexts for work though, and that was mostly a call based on pricing (and knowing recline was flexible.)

The Next is everything I wanted the Coccoro to be, and I kinda love it. But I still use mostly Titan65s. ;)
