    odyssey question

It was suggested to look into 2011+ Odysseys, as we are car shopping.
Is there any reason to mot look at older than 2011 Odysseys?

    Re: odyssey question

Both the Odyssey and the Sienna were entirely redesigned in the 2011 model year. So models from 2010 and earlier really aren't comparable at all.

With the 2011+ 8 passenger Odyssey, for 6 rear seating positions, you get 5 full sets of LATCH and a tether anchor in the one position with no lower anchors (3rd row center), which gives you huge amounts of flexibility. The tether anchors are all conveniently located, so tethered seats don't interfere with cargo room or block your view out the back. The +1 seat (2nd row center) while not perfect, is quite usable. And side curtain air bags go all the way back to the 3rd row.

Previous model years differ by specific year, and I can't tell you exact configurations/problems each year, but at least the +1 in all earlier model years was much less usable. There were also issues with reliability in certain model years.

If you want to look at older minivans, the Sienna is generally recommended more highly for 2010 and earlier. If you find an older Odyssey that sounds like a good deal, there are people around here who know all the details.
