Question Narrow Booster seats

I have a Dodge Grand Caravan and must get three booster seats across the third row. Console to console I have 48.5 inches of space, but must have space to buckle in the munchkins. Can anyone recommend a booster seat which may be able to "fit" the need? Perhaps even a triple booster.

I have measured everything at Walmart and Canadian Tire and all appear to be far too wide.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dodge minivans are known for not playing nice with boosters, especially in the third row. I'd be surprised if there is a good solution for you. Is there any possibility of moving any of the boostered children to the 2nd row? What other children are you transporting (ages/weights) and what seats are they in?

What year is your minivan and what is the tether situation in the 3rd row?

ETA: I'm moving this to the Canadian subforum since you mentioned Canadian Tire.

I am the OP. The Grand Caravan is a 2008. I have a 2016 as well and the dimensions are the same. I have five children. These are the smallest of the five yet all need to go into boosters. The second row has two captains chairs. One is occupied by my much larger 10 year old and the other by another child in a booster. So I am stuck between a console and a hard place. Still looking for help. I will order online if I can find something that will work. I am desperate as we are getting to apoint we have to take two vehicles to get our whole family anywhere.

Thanks for your help.

It is not possible to properly fit three boosters in the third row. It might work if one can be harnessed, or if the ten year old is large enough to "Five Step" in the centre of the 3rd row and ride without a booster. Most ten year olds aren't tall enough but you described him as large so it's a possibility.

Can you share age/weight/height of everyone? What seats do you have?

Would a Ride Safe travel vest work? Is that legal in Canada?

ETA: I obviously know nothing about Canadian laws or availability. But could you get Harmony DreamTimes? 3 of them at 16" each is 48".

We do have the DreamTime, but I can't imagine them being able to buckle with only a half inch extra space total. The Dreamtime is awful to buckle in tight spaces as the armrests are so low and long.

I am the OP.

My 10 yo is 140 lbs and doesn't need any sort of enhanced restraint. He is also to big to sit between two boosters and be placed in the third row. I have 8 yo quadruplets. They range between 48-56 lbs and are nearing the ability to use the Sunshine Radian seats they had been using til now.

I either find a narrow solution for the back seat for three wee ones or will be stuc using two vehicles to go anywhere as a family.

I'm late to this party, but I'm facing a transition for my daughter from a Radian also - now I only have one child so have no idea if this would work, but what about the Harmony Defender in harness mode? I'm not sure how wide it is, or if it was one that you measured (it's at Walmart). It has very high top harness slots so you may be able to use them.

Can you get a bench seat to replace the captain's chairs in either vehicle? If not, you might have to consider getting a different vehicle. It might be a better option than using 2 vehicles, and the only option if you might ever need to transport all the kids without a second driver!

HTH,
Melissa
