Car seat challenge protocol

Is anyone who works in a hospital doing car seat challenges with preemies willing to share your protocol with me? I have a pediatrician on another forum who has a patient who was sent home from the NICU with a car bed. She would like to do a car seat challenge in the office to see if this baby can graduate to a regular infant seat, but doesn't know the protocol. She says that the NICU the baby came from isn't being helpful.

Do you just measure oxygen saturation (easy to do in a pedi office) or other parameters like end-tidal CO2 (that most peds offices don't have the equipment for)?

(I'm a physician but not a pediatrician.)

Oxygen saturation, heart rate, and respiration are what's tested in "car seat" mode on a Phillips monitor.

This. Baby should be placed in the seat correctly, placed at the correct angle based on the seat, and then must maintain sats, HR, and resps for at least 90 minutes or the length of time it takes for the parents to get to appointments from their home (whichever is longer, I've done 3 hour car seat challenges).

We did a minimum of 90 minutes if they live further than that from their appointments then we took how long it took them plus an extra fifteen minutes for traffic.
