RF SureRide fit

I am thinking of getting a SureRide for my LO for a travel and backup seat. She is on the small side at 18 months at about 29.5" and 20 lbs. 40" and 40 lb should get her to 4 easily, and I wouldn't have to get another FF travel seat later. We sometimes fly relatively short distances (like CT to MI with a layover), and if I took a train somewhere I would want to bring it for use on the other end.

My hesitation is the deep RF angle. Here is a list of vehicles I might put it in RF. Anyone know if it is incompatible with any of these?
2006 Chevy HHR (our car, I think it would be fine in the center)
2014 Honda Accord (driver's seat basically all the way back)
2005 Honda Pilot (possible 3rd row use, but not likely)
Early 2000s Grand Caravan (3rd row center, lap belt only)
2006? Honda CRV (has curvier body style, average height drivers)
2006? Subaru Forester (rounded boxy shape, tall driver)
2003? Buick sedan, maybe LeSabre? (Has LATCH, either short or tall driver)
2011+ Honda Odyssey 8 pass. (Third row unless it will go RF between a pinnacle and an Advocate. I fit there with the Adv RF)

Wow, long list! If it really won't work, I will get a NEXT. I assume I can go more upright RF on the plane with the SR if needed? Thanks!

I would get a NEXT and then another travel seat later for FF. I don't know about all these vehicles, but I have used a SureRide RF in a Honda Accord (1998) and it really only worked in the center if I wanted the passenger seat up front to be usable. I have a 2010 Forester and I would also be hesitant to put a SureRide RF in it either.

The Sureride does NOT allow for a more upright install in any situation. Which would lean me towards the Next. Also the sides of the Sureride are very deep and my oldest had a heck of a time climbing into it forward facing unless my passenger seat was farther forward than is really comfortable for an adult passenger. Not dangerously close, just less leg room than preferred.

I've got the SureRide RF in my 2010 Malibu. It's outboard passenger and I can fit comfortably in front of it (I am 5'6") but DH (6'4") has his knees at the dash.

When we flew I could not fit the SureRide RF without it being at a really weird angle. All 4 planes were Air Bus 7xx I believe.

Ok, all that is kind of what I was afraid of. I was hoping to save some money in the long run, but it isn't worth risking the aggravation. I was also considering the Onside Air, but it also has a single recline as far as I can tell. Sears has it for $60, and it could last to booster age if LO stays on the small growth curve. I guess the Next is probably the best option. I tried her in the Next and Onside Air last week, and she has years of room in both!

We've loved Onside Air!

My 2.5 YO is almost at the height limit (and a few lbs. away for weight too) of the Sure Ride for RF but we've only used it FF for the 4 YO and it was OK.
