    RF Convertible seat in CX-5

I'm looking to move my son up from an infant seat to a convertible in my Mazda CX-5. I am aware that these seats will not work well in the middle seat in this car. What are the best (safest, and easiest to install correctly) seats for this vehicle?

    Thank you

Convertibles generally have no problem there. What makes you think they wouldn't work?

How old, tall, and heavy is your child? What is your budget?

Re: RF Convertible seat in CX-5

A friend has a CX-5, and while I have not tried to install any seats in her vehicle, it appears that there would be plenty of front-to-back space there. I would think that space isn't going to necessarily be a factor unless there are other seats that need to fit back there or other circumstances.

As Wendy mentioned, if you have budget and kiddo info, we can hopefully help point you in the right direction.

    Thanks,

DH has a CX-5 and I have easily installed a RF Nextfit, Cosco Apt, Graco Headwise and a Roundabout 50 in both outboard seats. His backseat has the 40-20-40 split, so the middle seat is basically unusable, so that's why I'm guessing you're saying the middle seat isn't going to install a seat. I think it's about 11" from edge to edge.

I've put a Diono Radian on the side in the newborn angle. It wasn't going to be fun for mom for the first six months or so, but it fit.

So, given that, I don't think there are too many worries.

I think we installed in the center as well, but we moved it to the side for fit issues at the newborn angle.
