    Carseats on an RV.

    What's the rules?

Two seat belts in the back but one is on a rear facing seat.

So that rules that seat out?

Yeah. No CRs on RFg vehicle seats. *Some* RVs that I have seen and rented have designated spots for CRs and tether anchors. But I don't think that is the norm

    Re: Carseats on an RV.

I've heard that even seatbelted seats in the "cabin" part are not guaranteed to be safe (for car seats or people) because there aren't any standards regulating them. So, they could be wimpy enough where they will just separate from the vehicle in an ordinary crash. I think the only regulated seating positions are the ones in the very front of the RV.

So is there any safe way to transport kids in a RV?

    Re: Carseats on an RV.

I depends on who you talk to. Some people will show you pictures of RV rollovers and say children should never ever be transported in an RV because of projectiles. Some say the frames aren't certified. There are lots of people who will give you a variety of reasons to not transport children in an RV

Having said that, there are LOTS of people who choose to do it.

You canNOT put CRs in a RFg seat OR a swivel seat (like a recliner). You also can't put a RFg CR in the front seat where there is an airbag (unless it is a really old RV with no front airbags).

Aside from that, it is parental choice. We prefer towables but not because of the CR issues.
