Britax RF - tether or anti-rebound bar?

Do I need to tether RF if I have it installed with a Rebound bar? I just received the Roundabout now.

Also, the seat was manufactured in mid Sep - which is great, but the bar was in November 2014 - Does the bar only last 6 years, or would it be for the life of the seat?

Thanks.

Yes, the bar is enough in Canada. Shortly after they starting requiring the tether, they came out with the ARB. The ARB is to replace the rf tether, as many vehicles do not allow it.

:yeahthat: I would contact Britax about the expiration. And post back here with what they say! Good question!

Canadian Britax seats all come with the ARB now, and do not allow rf tethering at all.

To be confusing though I'm not sure the manuals have been updated to reflect this, at least not on the G4 seats. Last I heard - and I'd be thrilled to be wrong - the ARB was shipping inside the main box with a one page PDF of how to attach it with one small line about how it replaces the RF tether requirement. No reference in the manual to the ARB.

I should check my manual.

I just checked my manual. My mfd is July 2015. My manual has info about installing the ARB, and has nothing about rf tethering.

I did not read that in the manual, but on the car seat blog. That is why I asked, as it seemed strange to me, after seeing the bar in the box.
