booster for taxi

MIL taking child on train downtown and was saying how my daughter will sit in the middle on the 2 mile taxi ride, but seemed shocked when I said she'd need her booster, then, to be brought downtown too.

She is turning 8 this month. Is maybe 54 inches and is 55 lbs.

They will take whatever taxi. I don't imagine it would have head support, but it might.

What would you send? They have to carry whatever it is and take it on the train. And maybe leave it or check it somewhere at the American Girl store place?

The Harmony Youth would be too high if no head support.
We have an Incognito and that would be perfect but she won't grow over 55 lbs. (we keep checking, trust me).
But given no real good options...as I won't know the taxi situation.

I just told them for sure to make sure she doesn't use a lap belt with a booster!

If it were going to be a regular occurrence, I would recommend the Safety 1st BoostAPack, but it's kinda pricey for what it is and with your kiddo already 8, probably wouldn't get much use.

ETA: And now that I reread, she may be over the height limit on that one anyway.

Harmony Youth, and there is probably head support; is it just your MIL and the kid? Why wouldn't the kid be on a side (where you can be certain there are shoulder belts and (almost certainly) adequate head support)?

I've seen older cabs with no head support in back at all.
But yes, she will sit in the best position w/ lap/shoulder and ideally head support.
Just debating boosters as we have a few.

Are you in Chicago? I'd take the 29 bus from State and Lake. It drops off right in front of AG. But if not, Bubble Bum as it's light enough to not have to check it.
