So right now my son is 2y 7m. We're planning on switching him FF in dad's car when he turns 3 in March (maybe a bit longer depending on when the seriously horrendous south FL heat gets unbearable). He will probably stay RF in my car until 4. He rides in my car 80% of the time. As 3 approaches however, I'm not sure if I'm all that comfortable with him FF quite so soon.
Looking at the crash test numbers provided by Clek, it appears that the seat performs better with the 3yo crash test dummy FF rather than RF? However, it doesn't look like the crash tests show how it would impact his neck. One question I have though is that because my son is so small (less than 5th percentile...think the size of an 18 month old) would he receive the same benefits of the Clek FF? Those numbers just seem confusing, as it looks like the Foonf performs really well for a FF 3 year old. Not sure if that eases my apprehensions about turning him.
I realize this is all kinda theoretical, but i just can't help but wonder. Should I rest at ease turning him FF at 3?
