Has anyone seen it? I'm seeing commercials for the redesign. I'm wondering if they finally fixed the back seat belt overlap.

It's not a redesign, it's a refresh - no major changes just some exterior enhancements and a few interior cosmetic changes. When Toyota does a refresh they typically don't change seating itself, so I'm betting that crappy center seat will stay the same.

I nearly burst into a teary tantrum when my Step Daughter bought one of these a few months ago. Only consoled by the fact that they are a one child/one grandma/two parent/4 person maximum family.

Why? If you don't need to seat 5, they are great cars! I love mine, purchased it knowing about the seating and no regrets.

It's just the principle of the thing, I hate to support the production of terrible seatbelt design by purchasing cars with terrible seatbelt design ;)
With only one kid, it's really a fine car for them, for sure.

I know. I've resisted letting DH get one for years and we are the only 2 people that have ever been in his car at the same time as far as I know! I should just get over it!

My mother has one. I love everything about it but the backseat. We have to take two cars a lot of the time because we can't do three in the back. I went car shopping with her and researched just about every car she looked at.. then one morning she just went out and bought this car without giving much thought to the backseat. She was originally looking at third row vehicles, too. But she likes it and right now only has two grandkids so she's ok with her limited backseat.
