Can anyone with a 2015 LATCH manual clarify?

I have looked at two Pioneer seats in-store (Target and BRU) that have had stickers on the side that say:

Lower Anchors
Do not install by this method for a child weighing more than 45 lb (20.4 kg).

However, the Pioneer 70 manual attached to the seat (and also the only Pioneer manual downloadable online) says not to use the lower anchors after 40 lbs.

So which is the appropriate limit? 40 lbs or 45 lbs?

The seats you saw in store are are labeled according to the new requirements as of February 2014. If there is a label on the seat you can install using the lower anchors to the child weight limit on the seat.

If the seat was manufactured prior to 2/2014, you must determine what your vehicle allows (some say a child weight, or a weight of the child plus the restraint weight = 65#, or may defer to the child restraint manufacturer). Then you must determine what the child restraint allows and follow the most conservative weight limit.

Very confusing. I hope it makes sense. Ketchup Queen put together this list.

According to the 2015 LATCH Manual: For the Pioneer 70 - Lower anchors may be used until 40# (Labels present since June 2013 product launch). For the Pioneer: Lower Anchors may be used until child weighs 45#, since late 2014 introduction.

The official LATCH Manual weight of the Pioneer is 21 pounds for those of you that are interested. So if you have an early Pioneer, a 40# child + 21 Pioneer weight = 61 pounds. When the child using the Pioneer reaches 40# you discontinue using the lower anchors and use the seatbelt instead. (Britax recommends using the top tether to the child's full weight in accordance with both the vehicle and restraint limits at all times).

Since there are conflicting limits, I'd call Britax to confirm. On most of their seats they have used a 40 lb limit even when they "could" go higher...

Could it be 40 for rear facing and 45 for forward facing? As I recall manufacturers are allowed to round up for forward facing due to the top tether.
