Question how much longer do you think he has

I really can't see anything in the picture. Are his shoulders already at the top slot? If so he's about outgrown it now...

I'm pretty sure they are still above his shoulder ..will check in the morning. hopefully I wont have to move him to a booster just yet..cant really afford to buy another harnessed seat

Are there vehicle (head restraint, etc.) or child issues (not able to remain in position) that would make you reluctant to switch to a high back booster? If not, almost 6 and (I'm guessing) average size is a fine time to switch.

It's hard to tell, but he looks very close to those top slots.

his maturity I would not be able to trust him to sit correctly in a belt positioning booster. you can tell him the same thing over and over again and it does not register or at least takes a very long time to
