Latch for 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey

I know 2011 Honda odyssey and newer have at least 5 latch points but I'm pretty sure that is out of our price range. How many latch points do the 2005-2010 odysseys have? That generation is more in our price range. We will have 4 kids 4.5 and under next year and need to get a van with at least 4 latch points. Thank you!!

I have an '09. There is a top tether on all seats. There are lower anchors on three of them I believe. The captain seats and the middle of the third row.

Just to make sure you know, all child seats can be installed with a seatbelt. The thing you need to check for when deciding what seats to put where in the vehicle is that you want all of the forward facing harnessed seats to be top tethered, so you'll need a top tether anchor in a sufficient number of spots. The more top tether anchors a vehicle has, the more options you will have as far as how to distribute your seats.

I don't have my LATCH manual handy, but someone who does can check for those model years and tell you the locations of the lower anchors and top tethers.

2005 has 3 sets lower anchors (captain's chairs and third row center-offset) with three tether anchors (third row may be used either center OR passenger side.)

06-10 have the same lower anchor positions but top tether anchors in all 3 rear row positions (so every seat but the optional plus one seat has them.)

One more thing, unless there is a reason why you're just considering the Odyssey, you might also look at Siennas. That generation of Siennas has lots of LATCH positions (although I don't know the details offhand).

Yes. That generation of Ody you should NOT buy unless the transmission is already replaced or rebuilt. They tend to go unexpectedly otherwise.

The Sienna is more friendly for lots of car seats in that generation. 2004-2010 have top tethers in all rear seating positions, lower anchors in all but one, an actually much more useable 8th seat in the 8 seater model, and less compatibility issues with car seats.

The 2007+ Kia Sedona is also an option with 3 (4? My LATCH Manual is downstairs) sets lower anchors and top tethers in all but one rear seating position, and has good room and compatibility and better safety ratings than the Ody or Sienna in the same model years... And it's cheaper to boot.

Yes, we got a 2008 Sedona and the safety ratings were a big part of the decision. Ours has 3 sets of lower anchors and 4 top tethers.

:yeahthatlove: I agree with the suggestion to check into a used 2004-2010 Sienna, with one tweak to clarify top tether anchor locations: 2004-2010 Siennas don't have a top tether anchor on the third row driver's side, the only rear row seating position lacking lower LATCH anchors and a top tether in that generation Sienna (and pretty much the only real complaint I ever had about the 2005 8-passenger model we owned for 7 years).
