Question Fact or fiction?

I heard today that all infant/bucket seats should be installed with the handle down because in a roll over the handle will break and hit the baby in the face.

Is this true?

TIA

Fiction, there are a few that require it to be in the upright position and a few that have it other locked positions and some that are okay with the handle in any locked position. Eta this nice chart http://www.carseat.org/Resources/660.pdf (eta obviously still check the owners manual as there are possibly some seats not on the chart it was just to give an idea of some of the seats and their rules).

And for another perspective, here in Canada, where we have many of the same seats as in the U.S. (though they may be altered in ways that may or may not be visible), most infant seats now require the handle to be in the upright position. 10 years ago, most, if not all infant seats required the handle to be down.
