Inexpensive infant bucket?

My roommate's twin sister is expecting her first and was originally planning and may still be planning to get one of the Graco Clones. Since she is due in February, I suggested a short lived bucket for the winter weather that likes to hang around some years (and others, March is comfy warm....). Expecting a big baby as daddy is/was born big, and for twins, they were big (7lbs at 40+3 or so). My roommate had a 9lbs baby, which adds in to expecting her twin to also have a big one :).

I didn't use a bucket with either of my boys, and if we have a third, I'm planning on a Graco Snugride 35, Onboard 35, or Urbini so it lasts a long while, so I have no clue what to suggest.

I picked up 2 OnBoard 35s for like $90 a piece (standard base). I think it's a pretty nice seat for that price. But pretty much any infant seat with a front adjust harness would do for a larger newborn if mom isn't planning to use a bucket for too long and doesn't want to spend much.

I'd go to Kmart and pick a Safety 1st Light n Comfy (used to be the Comfy Carry). Those are nice little seats and very affordable.

I realized you weren't talking about any Evenflo seats, so I deleted the comment, but I guess it may be a reason to go with a different brand!

I was actually playing with an Evenflo bucket at Walmart the other day, and at only about $80, wasn't bad. But with that handle requirement, kinda a no-go :).

I have a Snugride 30 I bought from Kohl's with a 30% off code. It was like $60? But I think you can't use those codes on car seats anymore...
