RF kid catching foot in door

This might sound silly, but does anyone else have a tall RF kid whose foot almost always gets caught in the (automatic) van door when you close it?

2 YO sticks her foot out and more than once I heard yelping. Her shoes has gotten caught in the door more than once. Like, totally stuck and eaten by the door. I worry that if might someday get her foot. It's at the very end of the closing process that it does this.

I guess I might have to get in the van, turn around, hold down her feet, and then somehow close the door?

Talking about it and even the scary experience of getting the shoe stuck has not prevented her from doing this.

Hmm can you try a sticker chart? Every time she doesn't stick out her foot she gets a sticker then after 3 stickers she gets a prize like an ice crew or a dollar store toy? And gradually increase the amount of stickers needed? Or can you close the door manually after making sure her foot is clear (and being able to stop immediately if it's not) Any older children that can be put on "foot watch" or able to distract her? Move around seats so she's in a different seating position?

I don't have experience with this particular issue, but for my 2-yr old, I can imagine that a fun, sing-songy reminder would help. Like saying, "Welcome aboard! Please keep your hands and feet inside your car seat while we close the door!" Then saying "beep beep beep!" (Like a truck backing up) as the door closes, and then saying "all clear!" when the door is shut. Or maybe just one of these little verbal cues would be enough. My DD would love saying this stuff with me, but I don't know if all kids would respond to that.

When my son did that, it almost twisted his whole leg around, and DH refused to allow him to RF any longer, since he was nonverbal and couldn't really explain it to him or make sure he understood how dangerous it was. That was 6 years ago, is RF to over age 2 was mostly unheard of anyway. I don't really have any good advice on how to stop it, unless you can move her to a third row or center seat.

Does she know "criss-cross applesauce"? My 17 month old has picked up on it and will attempt it when we say it. Maybe you could say that as the door is closing?

My other thought is a piece of cardboard next to her seat to block her from putting her foot up... but I know in my kids that would cause a tantrum!
