Seatbelt extender on a plane

Hopefully others will chime in since I have no real life experience with this, I have only read about it!

This is only an issue with seats that have a closed belt path, as far as I have read. Because the latch plate on planes have that release where you have to pull up, a closed belt path might not allow you enough room to unbuckle. My understanding is, if the latch plate is going to sit inside the closed belt path, then you need an extender so that doesn't happen.

This!

Occasionally people will suggest one for open belt bath FF seats to move the buckle from behind the child's back- but it doesn't move the fixed end of the seat belt or where the buckle will lay, it just gives you a release point to use for closed belt paths.

Thanks. Would you need one for a Clone? I haven't used one and don't know what kind of belt path it has. Also I'm not sure whether Griffin will rear or FF on the plane. Depends if it fits rf.
