New EU version of the RideSafer vest

We are moving to Italy in 3 weeks and our car and car seats are being shipped and won't be there until a few weeks after we arrive. We won't be doing too much driving but I do need something easy for travel for my 4 year old. I also will be returning to the states next summer alone with 2 kids for a few weeks so I would use it then. I'll be bringing our Guide 65 for the little guy since that is our travel seat. I'm contemplating a RideSafer and the new EU version looks promising. My question is, does anyone know if I need to use the booster for it when I'm in the States or can I just use the vest. Any other thoughts?

P.S. I'll use a CARES on the plane.

Hi there. I live in Milan ;)
The clips holding the best in are different on the EU version due to the one hand release retirement in Europe. So if you buy the EU version you will need to use the whole system (so including booster) as it has been tested.

That said. I have the US version here with me bc I bought it 3 years ago. It's not really something you'd want to use for lots of trips in/out of the car. I keep seats in the US at my parents house so as to not have to travel with seats.
