I am very interested in a diono as long as it'll fit in my edge well, would you recommend the Radian RXT or Rainer? I know the Rainer is the newest..

Hi There & Welcome!

Do you plan to have the seat rear facing?
How old is the child? Do you know their current weight or height?

There are a few differences between the RXT & Rainier. One being the rear facing weight limit with is 45lbs for the RxT & 50lbs for the Rainier.

The other difference is the width at the top (shoulder/head area) of the Rainier - it's wider than the RXT which can be great for increased internal room for the child , but can make it harder to do 3 across in some vehicles if both seats are going the same direction.

The Rainier also has more memory foam padding than the RXT.

The base of the car seat is the same in both width & install in terms of the angle adjuster & the RF boot attachment.

Yes planning on having 9 month old in it rear facing, he is 18 lbs and 28" height.. No other seats back there.

Realistically you could chose whichever you like best :)

Rainier has a blue & purple cover option which can be fun

The RXT is the same width from top to bottom so if you plan to have more kids or adult passengers it can be more comfortable to sit beside & easier to puzzle other car seats with.

Do you have somewhere you can try them both? Or even see them in person to check out the cosmetic differences like covers & added memory foam?
