Question Ford Edge

I am just wondering what stage 2 car seat fits best in a 2010 ford edge? I have been looking at the Diono Rainer and Radian RXT and the Britax Marathon. I also read that they don't recommend to use the Rainer as a booster due to the belt positioning problem, is this true?

Hi, by stage 2, do you mean a rear facing convertible (a convertible goes rear and forward facing)? What is your budget? How old is the child and what does she weigh?

No, the Diono boosters don't make great boosters, but dedicated boosters are pretty cheap and that's many years down the road!

(sorry, I meant the Diono 3 in 1s! Their dedicated boosters are fine.)

With those stats you have a lot of options. What are the most important features you're looking for and what is your budget? Any other seats back there?

Safety and easy loading and unloading is what I am looking for, and comfort for the baby. no other seats in the back and I am will to buy a diono on sale but don't want to spend more than $350.

Ok, so safety wise, all seats pass the same standards, and the safest seat is the one that allows rear facing and harnessing long enough, and fits safely in your vehicle, and will be used correctly every time. :) For ease of loading/unloading, do you want a seat with low sides? If so, radians are a good choice. However they can be a more difficult install, and take up a lot of room rear facing, so there are trade offs. The Safety 1st Complete Air is also fairly shallow, and easier to install, and a bit more compact once upright. The Safety 1st Guide 65/Eddie Bauer XRS is also low and fairly long lasting and more compact though a bit less plush in some trims and has a headrest not all kids like.

The Safety 1sts have a RF height limit of 36", so they aren't super long lasting.

The Radian/Rainier would definitely be a good one to look at for ease of loading/unloading-- you would need an angle adjuster, and you're right, they don't make a great booster, but boosters are fairly inexpensive when that time comes around.

You might also look at the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio, it's often well liked, and shop.ca has it for under 350, especially if you get some of the ebates deals.

I am very interested in a diono as long as it'll fit in my edge well, would you recommend the Radian RXT or Rainer? I know the Rainer is the newest..
