Do they have a list of affected years and models yet? It's a PITA to deal with VINs, so it would be nice to know if I even need to bother.

Not yet. I mean, there were already something like 17M vehicles affected, and there's a list of THOSE. But there's not an updated list.

I'm really watching this one, because we have a 2005 Odyssey. So far, only earlier model Odysseys have been listed as recalled, but I'm predicting that it's only a matter of time before 2005 is included.

The New York Times article said that it could take years for the recall repairs to be completed.

I logged onto the DMV page and copied the VIN from there... and found out mines affected by a different safety recall for SRS *rolls eyes*

Oh fab.

I don't know if my state's DMV site has that information or how I'd get it if it does. It would be easier to just enter them, but that's a huge PITA when mobile.

Our Hondas are 2010 and 2014. I'm ASSuming the '14 is okay, but not sure about the '10.

I heard on the news this morning model years 2000-2011 area affected. My eyes were too blurry to see all the brands but I'm sure I saw ford and pretty sure I didn't see Saturn or jeep.

There's that too...I just figured that since GM owned Saab when the vehicle was released they might service it for warranty purposes.

Ha! I didn't even know that! I thought you were pullin' that one outta your hat!
Yes, that would make sense then to go to GM.

GM?? I think maybe I'll call a Subaru dealer and see what they say since it's really an Impreza in disguise.

Yep, Subaru is handling it. The airbag recall for your vehicle was issued in December, at least for those owned in certain areas with high humidy. Here's what NHTSA says about it:

Report Receipt Date: DEC 01, 2014
NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V763000
Component(s): AIR BAGS
All Products Associated with this Recall expand
Details close
14 Associated Documents expand
Manufacturer: Subaru of America, Inc.
SUMMARY:
Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain model year 2003-2005 Legacy, Outback, Baja, 2004-2005 Impreza (including WRX/STI), and 2005 Saab 9-2X vehicles sold, or ever registered, in geographic locations associated with high absolute humidity. Specifically, vehicles sold, or ever registered, in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Florida and adjacent counties in southern Georgia, as well as the coastal areas of Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Upon deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.
CONSEQUENCE:
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupants.
REMEDY:
Subaru will notify their owners and Saab owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will replace the passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2015. Owners may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783. Owners of Saab vehicles should call toll-free 1-800-955-9007. Subaru's number for this recall is WQP-51. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-471.
NOTES:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Interesting. I've not heard of anything before now. I wonder if I classify as "high humidity"? I live at the beach but in Northern California...hmmm...
Will look into it!

I think it's limited to the areas mentioned in the text I included in my previous post.
