Getting Fllo tightly installed

So I just installed a Fllo for now to make things easier. Boy, does it ever! My 2 YO won't get in her seat so I moved her outboard, and I can more or less wrestle her in if I have to. And this seat is not too deep.

I have a good install behind driver 2001 Odyssey. The seat is so heavy. It's not a ROCK SOLID install like I get with my featherlight seats that compress into the vehicle seats. Is this sacrificing any safety? The install does not move more than an inch, but it does move a bit. I did not try latch. That looked more difficult to get tight, but I am not sure.

Also, it says belt goes through 4 tabs with the RF install. Is this just the lap belt portion? The shoulder belt won't because I've pulled it so tight (necessary) there is no way it'll fit in those tabs.

Customer service is closed right now.

(I moved infant to middle. He is 8 lbs. and I can do this for now. Plan is to get a second base for Graco 40 if I can). Behind passenger is a backless and 6 YO will be in school all day, so I can (daily) install the second base on that seat. When it's 20 below and the baby is heavy...I much prefer having an outboard option, despite some hassle.) Live and learn. I had a good setup but once I added the actual kids, lol, it didn't pan out so well. So this is our new try.

Seat seems crooked, and I can see why.

Would using one of the lockups help the whole install? Is that what others have found to be best?

Anything I should know? I see there was a huge thread on Foonf lockoffs. The seat is just so heavy...I often wonder if these heavy seats or the super light ones would do better in a crash. All those lbs. of steel right behind me, and next to newborn...is OK? Sorry if I am overthinking!

If I go over a small bump the whole Fllo moves due to its weight!

Both lap and shoulder belt go under the tabs. If you use a blue lockoff, you don't have to lock the belt (switch the retractor to ALR). That can reduce lean-i-ness.

I have our foonf rearfacing behind the driver for my 4.5 year old and my newborn center in a combi infant seat. What I've been doing it leaving the infant seat on the passenger side front seat while loading everyone else. Then I pop it over into the middle seat and my almost 12 year old climbs in. My 4.5 year old climbs across the base to get to her seat and I have the passenger side seat tumbled and have the other 4 and 5 year olds climb to the back where I have 2 ffing harnessed seats. I then buckle everyone while standing behind the tumbled seat. Then pop in the infant seat. I actually really like this setup and hope it remains easy to do as baby grows.

I have found using the lock off opposite the buckle to work best. I do compress the seat while removing the seatbelt slack. As stated, both parts of the seatbelt need to be in the belt guides, and you don't need to lock the seatbelt

FYI the rigid LATCH is only for the Foonf's FF install.

2011 Ody, right? I saw 2001 and that the 7 and 5 yo's were on the same siggy line and thought you were missing both a kid AND a seating position for a minute
Do you ever try the seatback recline method to get seats tight? Click the captain's chair a few notches back, install as normal, and gently re-upright the seat to firm things up. If that didn't work already, then neeeeever mind.. :)

Will the seat reclining trick work with the rebound bar? FWIW, if it's a 2011, not a 2001 - I've gotten a very solid install with the Fllo in a 2013 Ody captain's chair. Of course, I hadn't just had a baby :D

I think I got it. It's pretty tight.

I have 1 lockoff used and locked the belt (but didn't pull it crazy like before). The manual seemed to indicate this was OK? If it doesn't work out I can not lock belt.

I have never had to assemble a seat before and work with a seat where you had to do so much to it before use. Maybe I am just used to Britax, lol.
I do not find this seat easy to set up or change it up.

Now that I read up on it it's better. But a huge learning curve, I would think, for someone with no experience at all with carseats.

I do like the seat now that it's up and ready. Very easy to actually use.

Yeah, it's fine. It's roughly applying the same pressure, just from a diffferent angle.
