DD forgetting to clip incognito

Anyone else having this problem? Or she twists the clip and puts it on backwards. She was using it in another car at first without me and wasn't being checked, so I cringe thinking how many times she rode like that, without the clip put on the lap belt. It does provide a good belt fit without it, but still.

Recently, she's had me reminding/checking her and telling other driver to do the same. She still forgets at times, but has been doing better and then last week the clip slipped off the belt. She noticed asked me to pull over, and fixed it. Good girl! But I don't know why/how it happened. I'm not sure what I'm looking for, maybe partially to vent or in need of support , but I'm also curious if anyone else has had these problems and if anyone has thought of a great way to remind a kid to clip it. I'd like this to work better, even well enough she can safely ride with her friends who aren't as car seat savvy.

Thanks!

Yes, the whole year? or so that my 11yo used it, it was constant reminders. He'd get better when I threatened to put him back in a " regular" booster, but it would eventually happen again.

Hopefully it works ok with the clips off in a crash. I know we don't know one way or the other, but I'm hoping they tested it that way and it was ok and that was one of the reasons they could bring it to market. Otherwise, that's a huge chance for them to take with kids.

Has anyone called them and got their take on it?

The side the shoulder belt comes down from can remain in the clip at all times, it's only the second side, where it buckles in that could be an issue.

It's all about reminders, the same way we need to remind the kids to brush their teeth, and wash their hands with soap when they come in from playing outside - especially when it's several times a day!

Sigh. So many reminders. She's getting a lot better at it, though, and leans over and clips it for other kids riding next to her.

We do leave that side clipped all the time.

So, apparently it's not just my kid who forgets. ;) I had hoped for this to be a booster she could use to ride with friends, but most people here are car seat clueless, so she'd need to be able to do it all on her own, without reminders. Well, maybe eventually. As it is,she also needs to get better at positioning it on the seat because it slides easily and needs to be shifted back into position each ride.

Am I the only one who wishes they made an incognito that latches? that would solve that problem. Actually, we also wish they made one with color and cup holders. I know, that defeats the point for most kids, but for us, we got it out of necessity because my kid is too tall for most boosters.

Oh, I agree! LATCHing it would be really cool.
Tall boosters were always the problem in our old cars, I wish they would have come out with Incognitos years ago!

You mean clipping the belt into the side plastic thing? I check it now and then and it's always in there, except when it falls out! That happened once. My child would not notice. It's something to remind him about for sure.
I didn't think the fit was great without it clipped, at least in our van. Lap belt rode too high.
