Question 3 car seats in toyota prius - Canada

Hi,
I know there has been some discussion in the past but I am wondering if anyone would know if it is possible to fit the following car seats in a 2008 (second generation) toyota prius.
1 in a FF Britax Blvd
1 in a RF Britax Marathon
1 in a mico maxi cosi

According to the measurements of those seats side by side I would need a back seat that is more than 54.5" wide. I can't find anything online about the dimensions of the bck seat.

we are willing to get smaller car seats if need be (diono?) or a bigger vehicle if absolutely necessary, but are really hoping we can make this work for the year while I am on maternity leave!

Thanks in advance

What are the ages/height/weight of the children? I've installed in a Prius but it wasn't a three across, so not sure how wide it is back there, but the Marathon and Boulevard are wide-ish seats. Do you already own these three seats, and if so, are you able to try them out first? Installing all with seatbelt will likely save you a bit of room over using UAS. If they don't fit, narrower options include the Diono as you mentioned (newer line of Pacifica, Rainier etc have a wider top part so not as good an option for three across as the R100, RXT etc), or Clek Foonf/Fllo for the Rear Facer: vicarseattechs.com/our-favourite-seats/infantchild-seats/, possibly a Harmony Defender for the Forward Facer (Walmart $160), and if after that you still need a narrow infant seat, there are several narrower ones that you could try: vicarseattechs.com/our-favourite-seats/infant-seats/

It will be tough... I have a 2010 Prius and my back center belt is actually shorter than the outboard belts. I actually didn't have enough belt length to install either of my seats in the middle but as I'm in Europe, the routing is a little different. But I'd start there and see what you can fit in the middle position first. It's very very narrow so you need a narrow base.

We have a 2011 Prius and I'm going to be bold and say that, no, those seats won't fit. I day tis without having tried it myself.
I believe the backseat of the prius has 51" to work with.
But you can't always go off of the seat measurements because those will be the widest part of the seat.

I see you are in Canada, but I know the Diono convertibles (Radian, Rainier) should be available to you. One of these RF and one FF will fit next to each other pretty well and leave (probably just enough) space for a narrowish infant seat.

They are not the easiest to install, but if I can do it I think anyone can. You might want to consult with a local helper or at least ask any questions here and we can try our best to help online.

We have achieved several 3-acrosses in the Prius using anything from 3 radians (facing alternating directions) 2 radians and a narrow high-back booster, and now, one radian and two backless boosters.

I used to own some Britax convertibles and they are just a bit too wide, and their widest parts tend to bump into each other in all the wrong spots to work in a 3-across.

New seats are usually much cheaper than a new car, though.

I'd consider ditching the mico. Main reason being its going to be near impossible to buckle it in with the 3 across. And I don't think the base will fit... Definitely not latched (or do you have the easyfix base available there? Regardless it won't leave you enough room for the other two seats.)

I think I've seen a thread here with three radians in a Prius.
