cleaning seat belts

I need to clean a seat belt of my vehicle. Are unscented baby wipes a good choice for this?

I just use a wet washcloth (I do the same with harness) if its super dirty I bring out a old toothbrush and try to clean it more thoroughly with that. I don't know about seat belts but I know Tomy approved me using a squirt of dish soap like dawn in a large cup of warm water to clean the harness after my son puked on it.

I'be used a little dish soapy water on a wash cloth to clean mine before.

Thanks. My specific problem is that one kid snuck a peanut butter cup (which is an allergen for another family member) into the car and proceeded to eat it and wipe his hands everywhere.

So i'm looking to wipe off allergen proteins more so than to clean dirt.
