Backless Frontier?

Why do people keep (ok, like, 2, but still!) thinking the FR becomes a backless booster?
A mom with a petite 4 or 5 year old was shopping for a second seat for g'mas car the other day and went so far as to try to pull up evidence for her belief on her phone. I distracted her by agreeing with her that harnessing was safe, I'm on your side, ma'am, I won't embarrass you when you realize you're wrong, I promise ;)

Is it possible they just were doing too much online shopping and the descriptions for the Nauti and Frontier get confused in their memories....?

I've heard it quite a bit online lately, it seems like maybe you're right and people are getting it mixed up with the Nauti. That and I've seen a few "well it costs so much I assumed it went to backless too".

I used to think it went backless. Did any of the frontiers go backless at any point? I don't think I ever told anyone this info but in the back of my head, I just assumed it did and never looked into it. I don't plan on using either of our frontiers as anything other than a harnessed seat though.
