Confused regarding weight limits

So I've been eying up the Maxi Cosi Pria 65 in Bohemian Blue for a while but I'm confused if it will have an older date of manufacture. I thought that in February of 2014 that they changed the rules for crash testing so all the seats were rated to 70 pounds are now only rated to 65 (except for a few rated to 80 like the Pria 80 or the Graco Argos Elite). I emailed Dorel asking them about and I got this response back which makes it seem like they are still making them.

Thank you for contacting Quinny/Maxi Cosi Consumer Relations.

We are happy to help you with your request! The Bohemian Blue model can be found online via Amazon.com, Buy Baby, HealthCheckSystems Inc, PishPoshBaby, Toys R Us, PeppyParents, BabyViva, AlbeeBaby.com, Stroller Depot, and Diapers.com just to name a few!

This is a special edition fashion so it tends to sell out fast. If you have trouble locating inventory, just be assured that the fashion is NOT discontinued and should be back on the shelves soon.

I hope this information is helpful for you! If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We will gladly assist you in any way we can. Have a great day!

Here is the whole story on the 70 vs 65 lb thing, if you're interested: http://csftl.org/65-is-the-new-70/

We do prefer links to our partner website, CarseatBlog.com when appropriate.

Even better, we would also like to have basic questions answered here on the thread, rather than send people to another website if at all possible.

That article does also address the change regarding the use of the 10-lb dummy. The regulations were made at the same time regarding both topics.

As I understand there are a few subtle differences between the seats. There's the obvious which is the forward facing weight limit. But 85 has the easy to remove cover and harness holders. The 70 offers a tiny fit option where the 85 does not, so the 70 can be used from birth and the 85 can't be used until 14 lbs. Also the 85 gets you another 1/2 inch of ff harness height.

My guess, and this is just a guess, is that the Pria 70s that are being sold may have manufacturing dates before 2/14, which I believe is when the test dummy thing changed.

That was my guess too which is why I'm confused that it isn't right, they are still making the Pria 70's... But oh well, I'm still happy they are making them so hopefully I will get one with a fairly recent DOM if I decide to take the plunge and buy one...
