SceneraNEXT or Ideas for Airline Seat Needed

Hi. I am traveling solo soon with my two year old from Charlotte, NC to NYC. It will be her first flight. She is on the small side for age 2- (23lbs, 33.5 inches) and currently is Rear-facing in a Chicco Nextfit and Graco MyRide 70 at home. I don't want to lug the Nextfit traveling as it is quite heavy, and I'm concerned that the MyRide may be too wide for her seat on the plane.

Would you recommend the new Scenera seat as a good travel option for her? Based on her smaller size, what seat recommendations would you all may have?

Friends are picking us up in NY and we will need the seat as we will be visiting others in CT and NJ during our trip.

Thank you!

Hi. The Scenera NEXT is a perfect traveling seat--it's the lightest convertible on the market at 7 lbs. and it's really easy to install. It's inexpensive too!

Thank you for your help. I heard the Scenera NEXT tends to be outgrown forward-facing before rear-facing. Do you think it would last me another year rear-facing? It sounds like it would be a good travel and spare seat for us.

This little girl is almost your dd's size. She's 26 lbs. and 34" in this pic and a few weeks away from turning 3. If your dd is shaped like her, it should last you at least a year.
