Hello all,

My daughter is 23 months old and we are looking for a new carseat as she is about to outgrow hers. She is currently around 35 lbs and I can't remember her height but she is in the 98% percentile, so she is tall for her age. I have narrowed it down to the Britax Marathon Clicktight or the Britax Frontier Clicktight. Which is safer and easier to install? She is currently forward facing. I was pretty much set on the Marathon but was hesitant that it only goes up to 65 lbs. The Frontier goes up to around 100. So now I am confused and don't know which to pick.

Hi there!

Both seats tend to be extremely easy to install, so it's pretty much a draw in terms of that.

The Marathon is safer in the sense that it rear-faces. The recommendation is to keep children rear-facing until at least 2 years old, and preferably longer. Your 23-month-old could probably ride rear-facing for another year or so in the Marathon.

If you decide to keep her forward-facing, though, the Frontier would be the more logical choice since it lasts longer and turns into a booster. It does require children to be at least 2 years old to use it, though, so you couldn't use it quite yet.

Welcome!

If you prefer to have her remain forward facing, the Frontier will last much longer and convert to a booster later. It does have a 2 year minimum age requirement.

Please be sure to check out our reviews of both products at www.carseatblog.com !
