    There is raised lettering on the underside of the seat that will say "do not use after December 2016." With a 2010 date of manufacture your seat is good until the end of December 2016.

    Per Health Canada though, it's not legal to pass it on to anyone else for free or otherwise, but it IS safe for you to keep using it until expiry (provided it is in good working order of course, hasn't been damaged, in a crash, or otherwise).
