After all that... BV on the side

I could not for the life of me get the Radian in the middle. It could not be done.
I moved the BV to the side for now. I might work with the Regent and get it in the middle.

I can't even put the BV back in the middle because the lockoff died.

Super rock solid on the side. I'm minorly concerned about the degree of cushion compression (not because I care about my car, but because I worry about putting too much pre crash stress on the belts and shell). But it's super upright and very solid.

I moved the front seat WAY up for when no one is in the car with me (he's on the passenger side). When someone's there, it's not too bad. He still has a lot of room. I was actually able to get it WAY more upright and farther back because a)no hump/armrest issue to overcome, and b) much more solid install with anchors.

Much easier to get him in and out, and he's happy for now. My car has awesome side impact ratings, so... I'm breathing for now.

Britax offered to give me a Regent for my BV. I don't want their "new" regent, so I'm not doing it. I might get a MA instead, and see if that's easier in the middle... or another BV with working lock offs (though the new ones suck) and the rip stop tether. But I kinda like the MA better anyway. We'll see.

Still peeved I can't make a Radian work. Wah!!

Estelle, what happened to the lock-off? I HATE the new FF lock offs on our new BV  because, well, they suck  A friend emailed me today and said that her ff lock-off on her new MA won't grip the belt anymore, but it's not visibly broken, but she says it won't stay in place AT ALL; did yours break right off or just die a silent death?

Sorry about the install fiasco of the Radian. I'm crossing my fingers that I can get one in the center of my van's 3rd row. Not sure what we're going to do if I can't, either. Does Charlie have a preference between the Regent and BV?

I'm sure it was a great sight seeing us two with that Radian pushing and pulling and prodding with our rear ends up in the air. and after all that there was still at LEAST 2 inches of movement. crazy.
