Evenflo Chase?

I will be turning DD2 FF when she turns 3 in June in my DH's car. It is a tiny prius c and my knees are literally in the dash when we all ride together. She is currently 33" and 23lbs clothed no shoes. I wanted to see if the 40lb limit of the chase would get us to 6/7 since she is tiny? It would be a rarely used spare so I like the price. I am torn on when to turn her in my car, leaning towards waiting til she is 4. DD1 rode rf til 3+yrs. Thanks!

Did you try out the Scenera Next? It may allow you to rearface her comfortably until 4. But no judgment here if you want to FF when shes 3.

Sorry don't know anything about the Chase- but Ive heard good things about the Maestro which is budget priced. Looks like it might be the same car seat as the Chase Select or Chase LX just they have a 40 pound weight limit vs 50 for the Maestro - seems as if it has 18' top slots which should be more then enough to get a petite kid to booster ready age.

Yeah, it's the same as the Maestro, just less reinforcing in the back keeps the price and weight limit lower. My kids were petite/average and the height and weight limit of the Chase was fine (this seat has been out since my teenagers were in preschool, lol).

Thanks. I had a maestro as dd1's spare. I don't think dd2 will need the weight. Dd1 is 6.5 and still isn't 50 lbs. dd2 is short torso'd so I'm not worried about the harness height, If she hadn't potty trained she'd still be wearing her 9 mo onesies for undershirts! I just wanted to make sure the weight would work. Sounds like I should be good, thank you!

It's the same seat shell, and unlikely that they would be made on different molds with different heights. I suppose it's *possible*, but honestly every kid I've ever seen in the Maestro or Chase (or eons ago, the Visions and geesh, how many other names has it had? I'm blanking, but lots!) has fit till about the same overall height.

edit, man, that's a good price! old review on there, I hope the seat isn't old, too? For that price, I wouldn't expect it to be super-fresh, though, it's such a good price, 3-4 years out of it would be fine.

I just found our Maestro in the basement and realized the 3 YO weighs too much to even use it. Next in line isn't even 2 yet. So I might just have it sit as it does not expire for I think 2 years.

I love it for travel!
