Are all Mazda5 3rd row seatbelts wonky on adults & backless booster riders? Or are some years better than others?

Prior to 2009, they were worse than now. However, my 2012 is still pretty rough. I prefer my booster riders in the center row and use the 3rd row for rearfacing and forward facing harnessed seats.

Okay, thanks. I would be using this vehicle for errands around town and would need the 3rd row when more than 3 big kids had to go to activities. #6 still fits in the Frontier & Sureride, but the others are all in seatbelts.

Wendy sent me a pic of herself in the newest 5, so I guess 2015. Is that the same as the 09+ or was there another change in there somewhere?

I test drove a 2014 Mazda 5 and I didn't really find the third row belt fit to be any better than the third row outboard of our Dodge Grand Caravan (and we know how bad those are reputed to be!)
At the time we test drove it we were considering trading in the van for it but I didn't figure it made sense to move to a smaller vehicle with the same seatbelt problem.

How big are your biggest kids? I haven't sat in our backseat since we bought it but the belt was ok for me. But I am 5'5" and 200 lbs.

My 11 year old and 8 year old sometimes sit back there in backless boosters but the belt is a little in front of them. Not ideal but the few times we've done it, we had no other choice. If I hadn't just installed the new baby's seat this afternoon, I'd take pics of them in it for you.

My big girls are around 130lbs, 5'6". #3 (boy) is 12, so should be shooting up any time now. He's 90lbs, 5'1", but I'm not looking to buy until next year. Just trying to pick what I'm looking for in case my van suddenly dies on me ;)
