Bringing my car seat to Japan

Dear expert.
My husband and I are moving to Japan with our One year old and I was wondering if a Canadian car seat is legal to use in Japan. I know that Canadians laws are pretty strict about which car seat can be used here and I was wondering if they also have a list of approved car seat.
Thank you for your time.
My car seat is Evenflow

Canadian seats are not allowed to be used in Japan which use the European ECE R44 standard. <snip>

The ECE R44 standard is kind of the global standard. 60+ countries around the world use this standard and Japan is country number 43 on this list. I think they also have agreed to use the newest R129 European standard.

Japan used to have their own standard which I believe now has been phased out. <snip> Using a car seat for a child is in general seen as completely unnecessary.

Percentage of kids in cars using car seats is extremely low despite a new law in 2006 which requires appropriate car seat restraints for anyone under the age of 6. As many as two our of three parents don't even use the car seat every time the child is in the car.

Public transportation is in general excellent so many people don't own a car. This might be an option for you depending on location. Japan also has some very strange exemptions from their rules. <snip>

Kids, and parents, also don't have to be restrained when doing "everyday activities" which are related to the baby. Changing diapers in the car or breast feeding is just fine. Even if baby and parent are unrestrained. Quite amazing.

Japan has lots of cool and beautifully designed car seats. Some require a very long seat belt so that might be something to watch out for. Type of seat suitable for you is difficult to say since it depends on vehicle being used. Will you have your own car? Or just use rentals?

Don't think Canadian seats are allowed anywhere except Canada which isn't a big loss.

Seriously, why do you have to throw a rude, unnecessary comment into every post you make? I usually appreciate the information you have, but continual comments like this reduce the effectiveness of the rest of your information.

Edit: and I see you made a rude comment about obese people too. Wow.
