car seat for traveling

HI,

I'm looking for a car seat for my 2.5 year old for the airplane and then auto travel at our destination.
She is currently RF in a Diono Radian RXT. Should I travel with that? (It's so heavy). We had been traveling with a cosco scenera, but she's over the limit for RF. and almost over for the Cosco Next.
She is 37" tall and 30lbs

I'm also hoping whatever I get can serve as an extra seat at home. I would prefer her to rearface as long as possible.

Our travel seat is an Evenflo Sureride. We use that seat in my husband's truck at home.

I also see the Guide 65 recommended for a travel seat a lot.

Maybe that will get you started?

The Radian is great FF on the plane but trickier RF, because you'd need to deal with the boot and probably an angle adjuster. If you'd rather not buy a second seat, I'd consider FF her on the plane and RF in the rental car -- you'd have to switch the strap height and switch the boot on and off but otherwise it wouldn't be too bad.

Sureride and Guide 65 would be my first places to look if you're not wanting to lug the Radian.
