Booster or 5-pt harness

DD is spending time with her grandparents this summer. She will be 5.5 yrs old. She's currently 41# and 42". I expect she will be taller come summer, but not much heavier.

She is currently harnessed in a Britax Frontier 90. I know this seat is a breeze to install and I am able to install the seat for the grandparents. However, I'm uncertain if they will need/want to move it between cars (or if she'll travel with aunts/uncles). At what point is a booster an option? I have no intentions on moving her in my car, but is bolstering at 5.5 in their car okay? Is one better than the other?

If she can sit properly 100% of the time a booster would be a safe alternative for her.

It would be good to do some "booster training" with her before then, so she isn't using it for the first time with people who (probably) have no idea about carseats.

I agree, find a booster that's easy to use/move around and see how she does. And teach HER how the seatbelt needs to be routed (under the armrests) so even if she needs help buckling she can get the belt routed correctly after she's buckled. If you know all of the vehicles will have high backs or headrests I'd be pretty tempted to go with a NBB if it's likely to get moved around often, although you won't be able to check the shoulder belt fit which might get tricky.
