NextFit fit question

Love my daughter's Nextfit, that she's been in since 6 months (so a year now)...

At her current height, she barely has an inch of seat above her head, I really don't even think it has that much. But if I move the headrest a notch above where it is, the straps come out above her shoulders. Not sure what to do.

I called Chicco about the same problem and they said they didn't use the 1 inch rule. Just to make sure the straps were coming from below her shoulders.

It looks like the headrest might be pushing on her shoulders? That seems like a really obnoxious situation to have to leave the headrest so low for another few months!

Yes, the seat being adjusted to the correct setting but not having much shell above the head is a known issue with/ quirk of the nextfit.

They do say at or below, but when you move it up, how MUCH higher are the straps than her shoulders? I'd consider like a centimeter above to be 'at' her shoulders, personally. And it looks like about 2 inches above her head, so I wouldn't sweat it if the higher up position is too much higher than her shoulders for another couple weeks or month or however long it takes her to grow up to it.

Last time I tried it at the next setting up, it was about half an inch or inch above her shoulders, depending on how straight she was sitting. Maybe I should try it again today and see.

I think the angle of this pic and the way she turned her head for the picture is a little deceiving. She definitely has an inch or less of shell above her head.

Now that I put two and two together, the not-so-great fit at the moment could explain her objection to being in it lately.

Thanks everyone!

I tried it again today, and now at that next higher level, the straps are about a finger width above her shoulders, so I left it there this time. That'll be ok right?
