ideal backlesss booster for older kid?

I might be looking for one for the (child who will turn) 9 YO at some point in the near future (so we can quickly get rid of the seat when he's at school and use that space for another child). Best bet for a bigger kid?

The Evenflo Amp has a HUGE space between the arm rest area and the seat portion. Does it not make the lap belt ride too high?
Then the (Costco Top-Side I think?) had hardly any space at all. So different!

No latch needed. Better if it's less bulky anyway for our purposes.

From what I see, the Harmoney Olympian looks nice and deep. The Clek boosters look way too shallow for leg support.

Any consideration of the Incognito? My almost 9 year old has been using one for 6 months (since she hit 60lbs) and we LOVE it, fits anywhere, easy to buckle, gets thrown like a frisbee to the back when I need it moved...

I want it to look like a booster though. :) I want other parents to see that hey, just because he is 9 doesn't mean we ditch the booster.

What's more important, though? Making a statement, or making your seating situation work?

I agree that an Incognito would be good because it's so lightweight and takes up almost no room when it's not in use.

My 8 and 11 year olds fight over the clek Olli. They really like it.

We have a topside for 3 across and it works fine but for long trips, I think my kids would revolt.

We also have a backless turbo that all kids seem to like just fine.

My oldest's favorite is using our Monterey backless. We use it both with and without latch depending on if it's available.

And I like the booster look. The incognito looks too boring. :)
I really like some of the cool colors of the other seats.
Some good ideas here. Maybe Amp after all. It looks decently comfy, too.

My older DD rode in an Amp until it started making the seatbelt fit worse. She found it comfortable up until that point. After that she moved to an Incognito for a few more months until she 5 stepped. The Ambassador linked above is another my boys used and liked when they were bigger.

That's cool, I'm still just reeling from your 'pack up six kids and drive to school' every morning scenario, and literally the least troublesome thing I could think of was the foam frisbee. After having it and loving it (and being proud to show it off to people with older kids who don't like boosters and need three across), every other booster seems like a bulky nightmare with no leg support, to me. Though dd still isn't ashamed of her 10 other boosters, and likes the cupholders on them :D

My 10 yo loves her incognito. She did like the Amp she had before that. Incognito is great at helping fit 3 across the third row when I need to.

My 9 year old prefers his Incognito too. We also have a clek olli that he really likes, but that one isn't as convenient to move, since it LATCHES.

We were always really happy with our Amp. I felt it fit a large range of kids pretty well. The Harmony Cruz has been another favorite (and the literide/youth booster).
