FPSVD at albee baby

I don't see the red one. It looks like they're just down to the tan one now. I know someone the other day mentioned getting a tan one with a fairly recent DOM. I'm guessing this means they're using up the last of the covers and they'll be going to be gone for good before much longer. :(

I dunno because people are still getting current DOM. (I don't know which cover) I'm on Ivillage as well and there are still people getting Sept 07 DOM. Maybe they're just going down to one cover?

Is the tan one the one with the dots? I really want that one, but couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks

Somebody posted from that Britax meeting that they're still making them as long as they have parts, but once the parts are used up then they're gone for good.

(OT from this thread, but apparently the shell of the FPSVD is not one shared by any of the Britax seats.)

I had heard that too, which is why I'm theorizing that they're just about done. The tan ones were shipping with 07/06 DOMs and the most recent red ones were 06/07. Now the red ones are sold out and new tan ones are showing up. They must have sold all the older ones and now they're just using up the last of the covers.

The shell is very similar to the Decathalon, but the base is different. There's no lever for recline (you just turn it upside down and push) and it has extra little feet on the front and back.

So I know you're not *supposed* to, but could you use a decathalon cover on the FPSVD. Or just the marathon covers that I have heard others using. Thanks

A lot of us have made the decision to use Britax covers on our FPSVD seats. I have Marathon covers on my two seats, and have the original covers as spares. It seems like the Decathlon covers would fit also!

I love my FPSVD seat but the covers that came with them are not very durable and I think people are eventually going to HAVE to use Britax covers to get their full 6 years out of the seats!
The seats are made by Britax, the covers are made by Britax. I feel comfortable in using them.

I wonder if the adjuster area would 'work' if you put the DC cover on the FPSVD? The MA has the same lever adjuster, the DC has a button, so it might look a little wonky...?

I have the tan/black cover and it wore out terribly after just a few months, I recieved two replacement covers so I hoping the covers last thru the 6 yrs.

It is a Decathlon shell. My rep confirmed that a few months ago.

You are correct, the base is different, but the seat shell (which is a separate piece) is the Decathlon.

I wish that the base to the Britax seats was removable like the AO's!
It would be great for older kids for the seat to have a lower profile.
