Boosters that fit a petite 6 year old well.

So my DD has basically been begging since she was 2 to ride in a booster. She is a peanut. She will be 6 in March and finally hit 40lbs-the minimum for being in a booster in WI. I am not one to harness for forever. I tend to lean more on the booster when appropriate. She is for sure ready. She currently rides in a FR90, but I'd like to sell it to buy a booster. She wants a booster for her b day-like the only thing she wants :)

So give me some options-my boys rode in high back Graco turbo boosters and really liked them then switched to the no back Amp which I also like. I'd really like something with latch if possible. I'm open to all brands. Mostly needs to fit a petite girl who likes to sleep in the car.

THANKS

My youngest is also petite. She still wasn't quite 40 lbs at 6 and after trying several, we actually found that the Turbo fit her the best. Not very exciting I know, but belt fit was noticeably a lot better.

She rides in a backless Affix now so if you want latch, that may be one to try as well. GL!

DS1 is booster training in a Jane Montecarlo. Similar stats to your daughter and I'm really happy with the fit and adjustability. He has not slept in it, but I'm imaging the headings would work well to maintain position. The rigid latch is so nice too!

I think they had the Affix at Costco when I was there the other day. THat's the high back latch able one?

My kids are both petite, and went into boosters around 42-45 pounds. I find the TB with safety surround is much better for sleeping than the regular TB. The headwings are a better shape for a sleeping head to rest on, I find.

The graco affix does fit little kids well. My dd is 4, 38 lbs, and average height and she fits in it phenomenally- though she's never ridden in it, the fit is great.

Another fan of the Turbo! My 6 year old DS just hit 40lbs too & his Turbo SS fits him great & he loves it :) I like that it's a bit beefier than the original turbo - he has good support in the off chance he fell asleep (which he did often while we travelled in November)

My ds will be 6 in February and he's just 40 lbs. I just switched him to the Recaro Performance booster recently. It fits him really well. I wanted a latchable booster and thought about the Affix but I found a review on Amazon from a cpst that said that one side of the latch is looser than the other, you can't tighten both of them. So in an accident, one side can pivot forward more than the other side. The kid would still be in with the belt, but there is no information about what could happen when one side of the seat is latched in tighter and the other side moves forward more. It made me nervous.
So then I was going to do the Safety Surround Turbo and deal with it not having LATCH. The Performance booster went on sale on Amazon for $90 so I grabbed that instead.

The Turbo is a great seat.
I also liked the Recaro for DD. She's a peanut as well and the fit was/is nice and it seemed a bit sturdier.

My almost 7 y/o is 39 pounds, she is in a Graco Turbo with Safety Surround, I like it better than.the regular Turbo because it "huggs her" better

I love the SS Affix!! We have one for my youngest and it fits amazingly well. We bought a Recaro Performance Booster for my van and he and I don't like it nearly as much. He can't buckle it himself and it doesn't hug him the same.

She sounds similar in size to my 6 year old (who wavers between 39-40 pounds, and has for about a year). He has a Recaro Performance Booster and LOVES it. (Honestly I think he would have loved any booster... he had been riding in big sister's pink Prosport for a while and was so ready to move out of it!) I do like the way it has lots of substance to it so that he feels more enclosed.
