Headwings on Diono Ranier ?'s

Do the headwings on the Ranier move down all the way, so that a 1 year old is using them? I seem to remember that on previous models, they were up too high for that and couldn't be moved down...

Thanks!

They have the same restriction on them as the RXT: wait to use until the harness is in the 3rd slots.

Well, crud. That's one reason I never bought one before. I really don't like that. :(

I keep hoping one seat will have everything the way I like it...it just ain't gonna happen, is it?

Somehow, I doubt my average sized one year old needs the third slots on any Diono seat.

My third son is fairly average in size and, with the infant insert, was on the third slots at 10 months in a Radian RXT.

Hmm...thank you!!

When do you stop using the infant insert? BG is not a fan of being hot or confined...she's about 19-20 lbs (less than I thought) and maybe 31" tall...13 months old..

The manual for my RXT didn't give any size/age guidelines as to when the insert can/should be used. It does say for the "toddler support" to take off the head pillow part (the "infant head support") and just use the bottom portion of the support. That would be what boosted my son up a little anyways. I think one year olds fully qualify as "toddlers" for using the "toddler support"!
I just used it for several months, I'd guess.
He was probably a little heavier at 10 months (maybe 22-23 lbs?) but about that same height and he has an average torso.
