So, 3 years ago I use my friends car, he had a Scenera for his newborn uninstall so I installed rear facing for my DD, so the seat stay that way.... so, his DD is now 3 but she is a peanut, smaller than mine, she is the size of a 2 year old, she fits fine in it really facing, under 30 pounds and small! He tried to put the seat FF but he can't get it uninstalled! He keeps asking me to uninstall it and I keep ignoring him.... so, WWYD ? Uninstall the seat so he can use it FF ?

At 3 she has the skeleton of a 3yo even though she's small. I would help him install it safely FF if that's what he wants rather than risk it being installed incorrectly.

:yeahthat: I'd rather her be in a correctly installed forward facing seat than an incorrectly installed one. I might mention that "Hey, NHTSA recommends rearfacing to 4 due to bone strength." And let dad decide after that.

Try talking to him gently about it and having a conversation rather then avoiding it. He may want to keep her RF after you talk about it, but if not, I would help him install it FF.

I'd install it for him FF just to make sure it's installed correctly. Then make sure he knows how to install it himself. I think it's great that she RF until 3. I don't know anyone who didn't turn their child FF at 1. That makes me sad, but making it to 3 years old is wonderful.

I'll add that my son is also TINY. He's almost 2, but I'd be ok with FF him at 3 if I HAD to for some reason.
