EZ-On Vest for infants?

Does anyone have experience with the EZ-On Vest for infants? I work in a Children's hospital with two patients who have a unique situation and are in need of a safe transportation plan. They CANNOT fit safely into a traditional infant car seat, convertible seat or car bed. They are twin girls, approximately 3 months old and weigh approx. 8 lbs. each. An OT here is suggesting the EZ-On Vest but I worry this may not be a safe solution for such small infants. Any thoughts or ideas?

Ezon vests have a minimum age of 2 and a minimum weight of 20#. Even then, they don't fit kids on the smaller end of the size range that well. For most kids under 2 and 20# there are plenty of options for restraints... Both traditional and car beds, that should preclude the necessity of a vest type restraint. Vest type restraints in general are intended for children who can sit up, have muscle control, etc. not infants.

What conditions do these babies have that does not allow for use of a car bed if not a traditional restraint? The hope car bed accommodates larger infants and allows for restraints other than a harness (it has sleeping bags).

The Hope Car Bed fits small newborns to around a year old, and allows for multiple restraint configurations for different needs.
It can be used prone, side-lying, or supine.

Even if they are conjoined, I don't think an EZon vest is the answer. If that's the case they should contact Riley Hospital for children as they really specialize in special needs and would be able to advise what would be best.

I know specialized restraints have been made by major manufacturers for conjoined twins in the past. Riley's would definitely be where to go for that. If no other transport is feasible, ambulance transport may be the only answer if the children must be transported.
