Purchasing Tickets

We are planning a trip to Florida this January with my ILs, and FIL is the one who makes the arrangements. They know we want a purchased seat for DD (1yo at the time of travel), but FIL insists on flying Allegiant - and they don't have an option on their website to purchase a ticket for a child under 2yo.
How do we circumvent this? Should we fudge DD's birthdate to make her 2yo, and then call to fix it? (I've seen/heard that recommended)

Call to order the tickets. I think my sister dealt with this with Allegiant also and called. I don't know if they did the order for the tickets over the phone or told her how to do it online. (it was several years ago)

I answered on FB too but I just order a ticket online for a child over 2. They don't give the option under 2 because they assume that all parents will just lap sit their child. For a lap child, you'd just call them up after buying the other tickets and add the lap child. Since you want a seat, just order a child ticket ages 2+. If you call, you may not get the good online rates.
