Father-in-law is picking the kids up from school twice this week because they have half days. This is a very rare occurrence. We cannot get three boosters to fit in his car with our current seats because of the hump in the center and sunken seatbelt stalks. We couldn't get the boosters to buckle and I know the kids won't be able to do it themselves and FIL will give up after about 12 seconds. The ride is <5 minutes.
Child in question is 8y8m, 55-56" and 72 pounds. She is very close to five-stepping in the middle seat of FIL's car, but IMO not quite perfectly (lap belt is slightly high, I think. It touches thighs a little, but more of it is on the belly. Other steps are all sufficient). I wish I had taken a picture. I won't be able to before she rides in it.
I need to know whether to put 8yo in the center without a booster or in the front seat with a booster. I think I know the answer but I want to make sure I'm making the best choice with not-the-best situation. Thanks!
