^^^ yeah to that.

it's all about the design. true, if all else being equal, weight does confer an advantage, but only up to a point (about 3400 lbs i think?).

i'd much rather have a well designed small car than a poorly designed big car, safety-wise.

some of those crashes were pretty impressive. the smart car is actually one tough cookie, and that video posted by momtoeliem also goes to show how safe a new tiny car can be.

Yes I watched that... that's awesome that little car held up against that volvo. I would take that any day over an ill-equipped older car.

But in the link I posted, there were some video showing a tiny car litterally ROLLING away from the point of impact. I've seen cars rebound before... but never ROLL away. It looked pretty scary.
Not sure what kind of car it was.

I would take my 325 BMW anyday over a bigger car. :) I've seen how well that thing protected me in accidents. But other little cars I have to agree would make me nervous. The only coupe I would drive would be a BMW or Volvo if at all possible. :)

Wow that is scary, makes me want to make sure to check all the crash tests and all before I ever even think about buying a car!
